Photography

Short Introduction

I’ve been ‘into’ photogaphy for some years. I’ve always thought its the combination of technology, maths, and art that makes it so interesting.

Images

You can see a tiny selection of my images here at Flickr. I’ve been a Flickr user for a very long time, and inertia coupled with the lack of any compelling reason to go elsewhere is what has kept me.

I only publish those images which are (in my opinion) vaguely interesting, amusing or noteworthy. There are no family or record shorts – they stay private.

In the past I have been asked why I publish online at all. The answer is straightforward: it makes me finish an image and is the end-point of my workflow.

One day, I would like to purchase my own printer and get into that aspect of the hobby. Due to a passing aspect in my career, I have some history in the use of very high qualty printing. I’m keen to find a way back into that.

Kit

I’m a firm believer that a good photographer can get a decent image out of the most basic camera, hence its not that important. No one wants to be the ‘all the gear and no idea’ guy. That said, my bag contains:

  • Nikon D7500 (a replacement in January 2023, for a much missed, but broken D80)
  • Nikon SB-600
  • Nikkor 18-200mm DX lens
  • Nikkor 10-24mm DX lens
  • Nikkor 35mm DX lens
  • Canon Powershot S95 for point and shoot use
